broccoli, carrots and mushrooms

I like to cook. Cooking for myself takes a long time. But it is worth it because I get to control the ingredients and the preparation style.

This is some simple broccoli, mushrooms and carrots. I just boiled the stuff and made some rice to put underneath.

I used butter as well as eggs to increase the calories and nutrients in the dish.

The trick is to boil the veggies until they become so soft that almost all the water is gone away. The veggies will be a sort of sloppy stew.

Many people say that boiling vegetables makes the nutrients go away. That is actually only true if you drain the water. If you keep boiling everything until it becomes a reduction, the nutrients will stay in the stew. Where could the nutrients go if you don’t drain the water?

It’s almost silly that people don’t think of that.

It’s not like the nutrients get absorbed into the wok. That’d be ridiculous. That only happens if you do something like bake peanut oil into your wok to make it sealed. But that’s completely different.

The company I work for called, energyrebels.com sells this Tikka Masala Sauce that I’ve used. It actually makes the stew taste a litter better. It adds some extra flavor to it. Here’s a link to check out the article I wrote on the sauce.
