Facebook Pet Peeve of invisible profile picture

Invisible Profile Picture

I have a pet peeve of when people don’t have a profile picture. When I see this, I will either directly contact the person. Or else I will use the “Suggest a profile Picture” button on Facebook. And I won’t just pick any picture either. I will seriously spend time and look through the tagged photos and see if there is one that captures the sincerity and overall-good-nature of the person. I try and find a nice picture that people will enjoy. I can’t help myself. I remember there was a friend who didn’t even have an invisible profile picture, but it was a very long and vertical picture. And the picture didn’t show up as anything but a grey box because it was an outdoor pic. So I contacted the man and said that there was a problem with his profile picture and that it was a grey box. He said he did that on purpose and he liked it. That was cool and I respected him for his profile picture shape uniqueness and he’s an artist so that makes sense.

The profile picture suggestion feature when you see someone has an invisible profile picture reminds me of living in a small town. Everybody is watching everyone else and if there is one thing out of the ordinary…YOU’RE GOONA HEAR ABOUT IT.

FLA to Quicktime to FLV is the way to go

Export to Quicktime

I was having this serious problem up until yesterday in trying to figure out the best way to create an FLV file from a flash animation (FLA) that had embedded movie clip animations within different simultaneous layers in the timeline. My first attempt at trying to deal with this was exporting an AVI file of the entire animation. But AVI files don’t show the embedded animations at all. So that was off the table.

Another attempt was to export a SWF file, and then convert that SWF into an AVI. But that ended up with loosing picture quality. Also the framerate was a little choppy, not to mention that the programs that said they could convert the SWF to AVI were not free either. So that was off the table.

But then yesterday I thought about directly converting the FLA itself into a FLV and I didn’t know how to do that, so I googled it. What I found was a website called ehow.com that recommended that I exported the FLA into a quicktime MOV format. This surprised me because I expected the MOV file to not included the embedded information similarly to an AVI. But it did in fact export the FLA into a MOV file that came with all my embedded movie clips and the framerate looked good as well. What I was most impressed with, was how the color quality was not affected, since I exported the MOV in “Animation” mode. Animation mode exports takes up a lot of processing power and hard drive space but they preserve the quality.

Once I had the MOV file, this can be easily converted into a FLV file that is great for uploading to YouTube. The best way to convert it to a FLV is by using an official Adobe Flash Video Encoder. But eHow.com recommended that I used quicktime pro to encode the flv file, but you have to buy quicktime pro for that. And since I already have Adobe Flash Video Encoder, that really is not necessary.

But there’s a twist to all this. Have you ever noticed that when you make a flash movie that is animated using vector graphics instead of bitmaps, that when you increase the size of the finished SWF during playback, that the image gets bigger without necessarily decreasing the picture quality? The reason for this is because of the vector based graphics, it actually redraws the stuff using processing power. So the super cool thing, is that when I end up exporting my finished FLA into quicktime when I’m done with the music video, I’m going to increase the video size. This way I’ll be able to make an image that should work on YouTube in HD, without having to actually draw the video using some huge resolution that takes up a ton of processing power and ram. This is extremely exciting since I want to show the music video to friends on a TV when it’s done.

The option for the size of the video shows up when you choose to export in Quicktime in Animation Mode.

I can’t tell you how much better this looks than trying to get creative by messing with SWF files and converters. This is seriously energizing and I’d thought I’d share the info with everyone.

Here’s a link to the eHow article on Exporting FLA files. Although I disagree with using Quicktime for the second part, it makes sense and is much cheaper if someone doesn’t have Adobe Flash Video Encoder.

Male Energy Cultivation Experiment 005A

A mirror can have tremendous value

Arrrgh. Wish I didn’t have to have 005A here. I was hoping to be on 004C instead. But this is ok. Everything is cyclical and at least I haven’t gotten sick again. Energy Cultivation is a process that is pretty much a huge part of my life, and it feels like every second counts. I’m seeing time and effort in a different light, and the clock is ticking.

The amount of radiation and pollutants and even pollen-count in the environment is significant. And from what I’ve come to learn from the nuclear disasters both recently and throughout the last century have made me realize one thing. And that is that I’m going to have to strengthen my immune system from the inside out through behavior and diet in order to survive whatever is coming next.

We have shifts happening with the magnetic poles of the Earth and this is having consequences. One of those consequences has to do with the amount and types of electromagnetic radiation coming from the Sun an other sources. Fortunately, the human body is an amazing piece of machinery. And if I Cultivate enough, I “might” be able to counteract some of the environmental changes that are happening. This is of course if my rate of change is equivalent to the environmental rate of change.

That’s why I’m doing any of this Energy Cultivation in the first place. It isn’t about being anything special. It’s simply about surviving to be able to participate in whatever is going to happen next.

I’m noticing massive sensitivity changes to simple things like even a sample-sized cup of black coffee. The digestive and energy-level altering realities make it very clear that the stuff is a mind and body altering substance. That’s what I think the writer meant in the movie, “A Scanner Darkly” when he said, “…even chocolate?” Everything becomes a trip when the body becomes sensitive enough.

Have there been productivity benefits to this Cultivation process? Yes, definitely. I have been making tremendous progress with schoolwork, the music video, science fiction writing and overidon.com. And have I been able to do any of these things without the support of my friends, family and spiritual guides? I don’t think I could have. There are simply too many ways to justify backsliding for me to go solo.

Community is a huge part of any success. And one of the biggest resources that a community can share with a person, is a mirror.

Relaxatron 5000 - Click to listen

There are many websites that have interesting soundscapes for people to listen to. But a website titled,  “Nature Sounds for Me” has a tool where you can create your own custom nature sounds. One is able to mix four different nature sounds. Once you pick the sounds, you can adjust volume, panning and also the frequency interval for the sounds to play (timing). I created my own nature soundscape called the, RELAXATRON 5000. It has a mix of a snowstorm, a mellow beach, a thunderstorm and an intermittent creek. It is quite soothing and I hope you are able to use it for relaxation and enjoyment. The cool thing is that if you have the latest version of Flash Player, you can actually download the relaxation sounds yourself and convert them into mp3 if you like and put it on an iPod or other MP3 player. It is very easy to make your own relaxing mixes, and there are several different sounds to choose from, including rain, birds, grasshoppers and even whales.

You can listen to the Relaxatron 5000 by clicking HERE.
