new sharing options

Check the bottom of a specific post to find sharing options

There are new sharing options enabled for overidon.com. In order to find the sharing options one must first be on a specific article. So these sharing option buttons won’t appear on the front page of overidon.com, they will only show up if you clicked on the title of an article or else was recommended to visit a specific post by a friend. So if one looks at the bottom of a post he or she will find some buttons that will help you share the articles or “like” them on Facebook. The first button is an “f” symbol that looks very familiar. That will let you quickly share an article with your friends on facebook. The next one is a “su” symbol in a blue and green circle. This symbol will enable a visitor to discuss a post on your “Stumbleupon.com” account, if you don’t have one that’s ok. The third button is a bird with the word “Tweet” and you probably already guessed that it will let you easily tweet an article via Twitter.com.

A really cool button that lets the user instantly “Like” an article on Facebook is the one with the Facebook “F” and it says, “like.” This is a really fast way to give us an idea if you enjoyed a specific article.

And finally, there is the “Share/Bookmark” text button that has all of the previously mentioned capabilities, as well as several others. For example, there is a “Reddit” and “Digg” option available here. And you can also instantly bookmark any article quite easily.

We want everyone to know that there is ZERO pressure to push any of these buttons. They are simply here for your convenience. So if you do want to recommend an article with your friends or family, you don’t need to highlight and press CTRL-C then CTRL-V and all that stuff. Open apple of course if you are a mac user.

You may be wondering why we waited so long to implement these sharing features. And the answer is two fold:

First of all, overidon.com wanted to make sure that there was enough compelling articles and posts to warrant the new feature. And since we now have over 350 posts totaling in over 100,000 words of information, it seemed like today was a good day.

Secondly, the website is getting a great deal more repeat visitors and regulars. Strangely enough two of the top ten cities of people who like to read the articles here at overidon.com thoroughly are both London. Two cities?

Both London in England and London in Canada are the homes of visitors that like to hang out either repeatedly or for extended periods of time.

Our biggest region of visitors come from California and they are evenly distributed from Nor-Cal and Southern California.

I was really happy to see that we are getting visitors from Athens, Greece who stay a while. I haven’t been to Athens yet, but I think about Athens a lot whenever I see civic buildings in my country. We owe a great deal to the architecture that was developed there.
