The Beacon Bay car wash on Newport Center Drive has new benches installed! This is excellent because they used to use very worn out blue cushion benches that didn’t do much except remind you that they have been used over and over again. The new benches are made of plastic coated metal. The metal is a sort of mesh diamond shape. At first I didn’t think the benches would be comfortable but I was surprised because they actually felt good. It was like sitting in one of those mesh chairs made of bungee cords. Except I like the bungee cord chairs a lot more. The benches look great and they have a nice yellowish-plastic look to them. I was able to relax and read my book while waiting for my 2009 Subaru to get washed.
The cool thing is that the Beacon Bay has a gas station fill up area that you can use right when you get there. I like that because they don’t overcharge too much for their gas. I like to fill up and get a wash at the same time in order to be more efficient in my life. As for the prices of the car wash, I chose the “Bright Wash.” That costs about $18 plus tax and tip. They wash the car and vacuum the insides. They also clean the tires a bit. I don’t think it includes wax or anything. But if you ask they will give you free air freshener. I personally like the Pina Colada scent. I tried the “New Car” smell before and it smelled like a vehicle that transports dead people. So I do not recommend that one.
They do a pretty good job on the wash. They use a machine to wash most of the car and then the do some hand washing and detail work on the vehicle. Another plus is that they usually don’t mess with my radio, because I hate it when people change the station or switch off my CD. That bugs me.
They have a snack food area. The snack selection is pretty extensive. There are chips, drinks and candy. Beacon Bay also sells trinkets like air fresheners and other items for your vehicle.
And old man with two little dogs using a walker tried opening to door to get outside today. He was struggling with the door so I opened the door for him. He was really happy about that. He said thanks multiple times. That felt good.
