The latest episode of overidonTV is online. It is called, Episode 3 – Details. Like the title suggests, we areĀ  dealing with details of philosophy and specifics of outlook. Here is an abridged transcription of the episode for the hearing impaired.

Everyone has a plan, Everybody has an agenda.
And those who don’t…are part of somebody else’s.

Welcome to overidonTV – episode 3: Details

What is an overidon?

An overidon is an artificial system that attempts to slowly expand and grow.
And it attempts to do so, without being destroyed
or inadvertently destroying itself, either through action or inaction.

So, what’s the plan?

“Well, I just want to live my life, be a good person, show up, and occasionally feel good.”

Ok, so then why are you looking up weird videos on YouTube?

Why is your chair black?

(I can probably help with that one)
The reason why your chair is black, is because you’re an adult.

Now there is a major difference between a child and an adult. And that difference in on the perception of time.

A child views time as an over-abundunt intangible resource, that like an outstretched ocean, or
a vast universe…has no apparant beginning or end.

On the other hand, an adult, views time itself as a precious commodity that has actual value,
and sees it as a finite reminder or unfinished business.

There is a new emphasis on winning and loosing in the current system.

Are you a winner? Or are you a looser.

Well, in reality that is not the best question.

A better question would be, “Are you surviving?”

Because in this world, there are survivors…and there’s everybody else.

And I’m not talking about emotional survivors or philosophical survivors.
I mean, are you dead or not?

If you’re not dead, then good job. You can blame your ancestors and roast your parents all you want,
but somebody has made a decision that got you here.

So with that in mind, what are you going to do with your time?

A good place to start might be, “How much time do I have left? How old am I, how physically healthy am I?”
Have I damaged my body to such a great extent that I’m pretty much screwed, or can I tweak a habit or behavior
here and there and be a serious asset to either my own goals, or someone else’s who I respect and trust?

That last part is important, because how many times have we been a part of someone’s else’s goals,
even though we knew that those goals were either flawed or not something that we respected or trusted.

Goal alignment is the basis of business with integrity.

But when you are a serious asset to your own goals, your own agenda, it is impossible to be in a state
that is anything less than total allignment, a frictionless state of mind. This is even more so if the
goals change and evolve over time, actually if the goals evolve that’s a good signal that you may be in
the process of being honest with yourself.

Unfortunately having goals and executing a plan takes resources. And in order to attain those resources,
one may have to comprimise on some important issues and deal with other people or investors, and oftentimes
forfeit many of the very benefits of human existence that make the whole process worthwhile.

But if you do things right, the process should be cyclical, you work for others in order to work for yourself,
and then when you run out of resources you work for others again, until one can begin the process over again,
hopefully learning and refining the fruits of the work and the system itself after every cycle.

If the for method for attaining your goals takes anything less than a decade, than the objective was
not lofty enough or else you cheated to get there.
Do not cheat. The mental and emotional and guilt based consequences
often outweigh any physical or societal ramifications. I wish I wasn’t talking from experience here.

Inadvertent software compatibility Rivalry

rivalry

digital compatibility-based rivalry

Last night when I wanted to watch, “Firefly” on DVD, I loaded up Windows Media Player. But I also had my Verizon iPhone charging via USB at the same time. And for some reason, when I played the final episode on the disk, there was no sound playing. It was truly strange. I’m running Windows Media Player 11 on an XP machine and my iTunes is versionĀ  10.2.1.1, so things pretty much seem up to date. But when I unplugged my iPhone from the cord connecting it to my computer, and then restarted Windows Media Player…the sound WORKED! It was such a strange conflict. Why would an iPhone make it so Firefly wouldn’t play on Windows Media Player? Very odd.

I guess I should just be thankful that the two devices work at all together. It was just a relief that there was just a simple fix necessary. Because that last episode of Firefly was good, albeit quite disturbing. That show got super dark super fast.
