yeah. I can see microphones distorting the voices. Especially if you are using a laptop mic or a headset. There are some decent USB microphones out there called the blue snowball USB mic. That’s pretty good. Also some games bring out different voices in us.

I think its the mic that distorts the voice. cos ive been told i already have a high voice but when i play my friends tell me i sound ridiculously like a 4 yr old
