Hi Jentastic! Well, you caught me. I ate three + brownies! hehe. That's interesting about the oil and the spoon. That reminds me of Zen. I like what you have to say about hypocrisy I never thought that being a hypocrite could affect reincarnation realms. Thinking about that makes me want to be more mindful of what I think and say! Good call on happiness coming from within. Everything that comes on the outside seems to be a trinket of existence rather than the bliss that comes from knowing the inside. Also finding happiness from within is logical because you don't have to travel far to find yourself.

I agree with you when you say, “I don’t think human existence is supposed to be a big serious deal”. You should exist in kindly, selflessly, and courteously. And don’t be a dick either. Well.. just not all the time because a little bit of assholiness is fun.. for the asshole. Really, live to your fullest potential. As a Buddhist, I’m sure you also have the understanding that you are to be useful to humanity, believe in Karma, practice moderation (how many brownies did you eat? ☺) and refrain from excess, as well as keeping your mind peaceful by diminishing negative thoughts and feelings. These things are said to make one happy. Yoga and meditation are great too man, you really should take them up.

Also on a side note, refrain from hypocrisy. If you are to do or say something that conflicts with your beliefs, take responsibility for your actions and admit that you are being a hypocrite and apologize. I think that will also give you a better chance of staying out of the lower realms after death and during rebirth. (And when I say YOU I don’t necessarily mean YOU but maybe you, you know?)

There is quote that I absolutely love which I did not learn from sitting bored to death in a classroom lecture but from watching one of my favorite movies. Bertrand Russell once said, “The only ting that will redeem mankind is cooperation”. Not surprisingly, I am a cashier, and I witness some of the worst displays of human nature there are. Unnecessary rudeness (yes, sometimes rudeness is necessary) and hypocrisy are two of my biggest pet peeves, along with slow moving vehicles and humans. Life isn’t about taking it’s also about giving, which brings a nice balance. Some people are quick to take and not so much quick to give. People cut in line because they believe their time is more valuable than others. People are quick to argue about the most ridiculous things (which becomes a waste of time), and really none of it matters in the end. Sorry we cannot accept your coupon; you can go home and cry about it or f’ing move on.

I don’t know if sharing is the key to our existence, but I have a feeling cooperation might be. Then sharing might follow. As a water sign, I am a true believer of going with the flow, as well as putting others happiness before mine, which in turn makes me happy too. I mean, with reason of course. I am also a huge fan of justice; so don’t fuck with my freedoms.

Don’t think too much about defining yourself and your path, but still be mindful of it all at the same time. There is an excerpt from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho that would be really relevant here.. it involves a spoon full of oil and an art gallery .. being mindful of the spoon full of oil while enjoying the paintings but never spilling a drop.. something like that. If you haven’t read the book, I recommend that you do.

Once you find peace, I think you will find happiness as well. Happiness comes from within; do not seek it with out.
